Paper Gliclée print 8″ x 10″ with 12″ x 14″ white matting

This bright orange ʻakepa (Loxops coccineus) is perched on a branch of ʻŌhiʻa (Metrosideros polymorpha). These extremely rare birds are intrinsictly tied to native Hawaiian old growth forests. Being the only obligate cavity-nester in Hawaiʻi, the ʻakepa nests in naturally occurring cavities in trunks or branches, while ʻŌhiʻa are often the oldest trees found in many Hawaiian forests as they are usually the first trees to grow on bare lava flows.

This print is a photo reproduction of an original acrylic painting made by Dena Nakahashi. Store out of direct sunlight. With proper care and a frame this print should last a lifetime.
